Participating Coalitions

PEEC is comprised of Employers Health Coalition, Midwest Business Group on Health, Northeast Business Group on Health and Pacific Business Group on Health - all independent coalitions representing employer healthcare interests - together with PwC, which provides consultative healthcare services but will not launch a private exchange. We have a long history as trusted and knowledgeable partners among hundreds of local and national employers who comprise our membership, and in combination with PwC, are positioned to deliver significant value.

Employers Health

Founded in 1983, Employers Health Coalition (EHC) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization passionionately committed to providing resources, tools and advice that help employers provide access to high-quality health care benefits at a sustainable cost. In 1999, Employers Health Purchasing Corporation was incorporated as a subsidiary of the coalition to establish group purchasing contracts for a variety of health benefit services, such as pharmacy benefits management (PBM) services, employee assistance programs (EAP), dental benefits, vision benefits and private exchange services. Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH)

The Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH) is a non-profit, Chicago-based 501(c)(3) business coalition comprised primarily of human resource and health benefit professionals along with other health care stakeholders from over 115 large public and private organizations. Members represent over 4 million lives and spend more than $4 billion on health care benefits on an annual basis.

MBGH was founded in 1980 by a small group of large Midwest employers to help them obtain more value from their health care benefit dollars. Today, MBGH serves as one of the nation's leading employer-focused coalitions and is a recognized leader in offering education, research and community-based activities that increase the value of health benefits and health care services. MBGH is a founding member of the National Business Coalition on Health.

Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH)

Northeast Business Group on Health (NEBGH) is an employer-led, action-oriented healthcare coalition that uses the collective influence of our members to drive healthcare value and reduce costs. In addition to large, national employers based in the Northeast, our 200 members include national health plans, hospital systems and providers, benefits consultants and suppliers of healthcare products and services.

NEBGH engages in a variety of activities aimed at educating and activating our members to push forward a value-based healthcare agenda that includes transparency in terms of health plan performance and hospital pricing, quality and safety; and primary care-focused quality initiatives including coordinated approaches to depression and chronic illness. A centerpiece of NEBGH activity is the Solutions Center, a unique platform that brings employers together with health plans, providers and other stakeholders in a collaborative process to uncover solutions and drive real change in the healthcare delivery system.

Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH)

Founded in 1989, Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH) is one of the nation's leading non-profit business coalitions focused on health care. We help leverage the power of our 60 large purchaser members who spend 12 billion dollars annually to provide health care coverage to more than 3 million employees, retirees and dependents in California alone.

PBGH works on many fronts to improve the quality and affordability of health care,often in close partnership with health insurance plans, physician groups, consumer organizations, and others concerned about our health care system.
